Earlier this year, Nissan made the announcement that they are hoping to revitalize their sedan lineup, and that means the Nissan Sentra will be among the vehicles on the docket for a full-blown refresh. Those that follow the brand closely know the automaker revealed a Chinese version of the Nissan Sentra under a different nameplate, and here at Hall Nissan Chesapeake, we have been told that much of what debuted in that vehicle will find its way to the updated U.S.-spec 2020 Nissan Sentra.

What does that mean exactly? For starters, the vehicle is going to look much more modern and aggressive from an aesthetic standpoint. Much like how the new Nissan Altima features a downward-sloping front hood, new V-motion grille, and wider headlights, so too will the updated Nissan Sentra coming soon to our Nissan car dealership near Norfolk, VA.

In a more general sense, the 2020 Nissan Sentra is expected to be longer, wider, and lower than the outgoing version, and the early indication is that it also will receive several new advanced safety technologies as part of the expanded Pro-Pilot assistance upgrade.

In terms of engines, the new version is expected to keep the same 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the outgoing iteration of the vehicle. That means 188 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque for the performance-boosted SR Turbo trim—more than enough to get some kick from a fairly small automobile.

Beyond that, it really is just a matter of waiting for the official debut. We do not know when exactly that will come, but it will be soon. At that point, we will know exactly what will separate the forthcoming version of the Nissan Sentra from its current form. In the meantime, if any customers in and around Chesapeake, VA want to test drive a 2019 Nissan Sentra, we are available at Hall Nissan Chesapeake to accommodate those wishes any time!
